An immersion in the cultural and natural heritage of this town.

ORDER OF VISIT: First you will visit the Museum and then the Cave, except in the afternoons of November and December, when due to the sunlight you will start visiting the Cave. In the Witches' Museum you will enter a world of mythological beings, medicinal plants and ancestral rituals. Leaving aside stereotypes, in its three floors it deals with issues related to witchcraft and portrays the Basque society of the seventeenth century, with its lights and shadows. You will learn about the inquisitorial process that Zugarramurdi lived through audiovisuals, attractive scenographies and interactive screens. Then you will visit the best known place of the town and the nerve center of its history: the Cave of Zugarramurdi. This impressive karst tunnel located just 500 meters from the town center is the scene where the legend places the celebration of the akelarres, the ritual festivals that the Inquisition judged as demonic cult in the early seventeenth century.
